For Supervisors
This exclusive and cutting-edge supervisor training program meets an important need in the child and play therapy professional community. It provides a safe space for supervisors to reflect on, discuss, and develop their supervision practice.
Grounded in theory and research, it will offer frameworks and models essential to supervision practice. Supervisors will be supported to consider how they supervise, provide feedback, and manage the unique and complex dilemmas that arise in this type of supervision.
Topics Covered:
1) Supervision models of practice – 2 models will be offered
2) Ethical Decision-Making Framework – to guide exploration of ethical issues that arise
3) Case conceptualisation – to support rapid conceptualisation that is dynamic and identifies key change mechanisms
4) Play therapy process – integrative practice, themes in play, and identifying turning points in therapy
5) Supervisor and Therapist development – sitting with uncertainty – during supervision and therapy process, and when challenging client situations arise (e.g. self-harm/suicidal ideation)
6) Surviving and thriving in team/organisational environments – through a neuroscience model
Structure of sessions:
This program provides in-depth supervision of supervision for supervisors providing supervision to supervisors! It is also suitable for supervisors seeking supervision of their own supervision practice.
Each session will be 2½hrs duration, comprised of education around each topic (as above), following by open discussion and reflection of participant experiences arising in their supervision of supervision.
