Strong case conceptualisation is the cornerstone of effective therapy. It supports development of robust therapeutic goals and ensures therapy remains focussed. The art of therapy, in part, is crafted by the therapist’s ability to integrate their case conceptualisation into the process of therapy.
This workshop will add to your existing knowledge and skills by sharpening your case formulation skills to deepen clinical work, remain targeted towards the needs of the client and their system, and transform therapeutic outcomes.
While the emphasis of discussion will be based in the context of working with children and families, much of the material is also applicable to therapy with adults. The workshop is relevant for therapists and supervisors alike.
If you are planning to join us for the ‘Themes in Play Therapy: Holding All the Possibilities’ masterclass, bundle and save by clicking the link below.
Key Learning Objectives:
1) Understand and describe the 3 phases of the Dynamic Case Conceptualisation Framework (DCCF; PPTA, 2021) in child therapy.
2) Use the model to structure your thinking about your case conceptualisation, including needs and context of your client, process-based functional analysis, identifying key change mechanisms, and treatment planning.
3) Link theory to practice through in-depth case discussions and workshopping your own clients. This workshop has a ‘peer group supervision feel’.
4) Feel confident to explain (not defend) the way you work with your clients.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This workshop is highly relevant for both clinicians and supervisors engaged in therapy/counselling with children, including psychologists, play therapists, social workers, counsellors, occupational therapists etc. It is also suitable for those working with vulnerable children and families across the community services sector in case management roles such as family support services, child safety, and OoHC.
